In Japan, Amazon has started taking pre-orders for Super Mario Collection Special Pack. The company posted a product description, which appears to have been removed from the listing within minutes. However, those few minutes were long enough for somebody to copy and paste the info into a story at Game Jouhou.

According to the description:

- The Wii game is a port of 1993′s Super Mario Collection (Super Mario All-Stars)
- No graphical overhaul
- Will include a booklet that recaps the 25 year history of Mario
- Booklet includes unseen development materials
- Will also Include a soundtrack
- Soundtrack has music from the original Super Mario Bros. through Super Mario Galaxy 2
- Limited time production
- The game will  probably come packed in a yellow box.

They should add super mario world, super mario 64 and maybe even sunshine. Would easily fit on the disk. Then I might buy it.

Nintendo's immense laziness and continued pandering to the Mario franchise continues unabated.

All of these games are readily available everywhere. Pathetic. It'll probably still cost $40 or $50.

oniyide (on 09 September 2010)

this is pure laziness, and people will still buy in droves, sheep

This seems like I would be better as a 3DS launch title.

gvangoeverden (on 08 September 2010)

Considering i just bought all stars on ebay today for $10 this is not worth it for me

Smeags (on 08 September 2010)

Worth it just for the soundtrack alone!

Happy 25th Mario! ^_^

Wow...

Jumpin (on 08 September 2010)

As far as I have heard, this is a Japan only release for the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Brothers.

FreeTalkLive (on 08 September 2010)

Thankfully I still have Super Mario All-Stars for SNES. I would never choice to print money this way if I was Nintendo; but, of course, I don't run Nintendo so carry on.

Vanbierk (on 08 September 2010)

Love the way they can potentially make such a huge profit for what's probably for them a day's worth of work....But I guess if they can, more power to them

Shonen (on 08 September 2010)

I would like to see better visuals i never really liked the 16-bit look and sounds for the games in the all start pack (I'm crazy ?)

melbye (on 08 September 2010)

Now this is lazy

MasterZack (on 07 September 2010)

So... no Super Mario World then??

Carpevi (on 07 September 2010)

Please, release it in Europe...please!

primogen18 (on 07 September 2010)

you can't download Mario All Stars on the shop channel, only the originals. I happen to enjoy the graphical updates of the 16 bit versions and am liking the soundtrack inclusion, this might be a buy for me if it ever comes state-side.

kakmalasch (on 07 September 2010)

a graphical update would be nice

Siko1989 (on 07 September 2010)

Ninpanda (on 07 September 2010)

Isn't this exclusive to Japan, anyways?

darthdevidem01 (on 07 September 2010)

Very very disappointing, hoped for some additions.

Oh well no buy then.

Silver-Tiger (on 07 September 2010)

What's the point? I can download Super Mario All-stars over the Virtual Shop and save money.
