According to a report from a Japanese retail event, Nintendo will be releasing "Super Mario Collection Special Pack" for Wii.  Super Mario Collection is known in the West as Super Mario All-Stars.

On sale October 21 for ¥2,500 (US$30), the compilation will mark the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. (Released in Japan in September 1985) and will include Super Mario Bros, Mario 2, Mario 3 and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels.

The Wii game will include some bonus, like a booklet called "Super Mario History 1985-2010" that will contain a recap of 25 years of Mario history and a CD of Mario music ranging from the original game to Super Mario Galaxy 2.

No information yet on an international release.

this will sell massive anyway, the casual gamer will be jumping for this because i doubt they never played the original all stars

super mario sunshine should be included, im yet to play that

30 dollars is reasonable for a 25th anniversary edition off Mario Allstars.

It wouldn't make sense to put the other games on, particularly since 3DS is just around the corner, and there will probably be a 3D version of Super Mario World. If you want something to have value to sell in the future, you don't give it away for free just a few months beforehand.

if it was a multi-disk compilation of every mario game ever made prior to the Wii (excepting the sports and driving ones...but including RPGs and handhelds) done up in a nice presentation, then I'd spend $30 for it. Heck, they'd still be turning a gigantic profit margin off of it.

Wait, these are the remakes, yes? With the better graphics and music? Hmf, 10 bucks for the better graphics, music, and extras?

That's alright. If it comes here, I might get it.

morenoingrato (on 02 September 2010)

is it 100% confirmed no smw and just a port?

Vertigo-X (on 02 September 2010)

Waaay to high in price. If it included SMW I'd feel better about it but as it stands it's a ripoff.

@rastari All-Stars has a save feature after every leve

They could have thrown in World and Yoshi's Island, or at least World. $30 for Super Mario All-Stars is a stiff price.

rastari (on 02 September 2010)

They need new features tbh, Like a save feature in a some of the games, new levels, a level editor or maybe even stars to find like in nsmbwii. Thats what would make people buy it.

Great game and the third game in my SNES (1st Super Mario World, 2nd Killer Instinct)

forest-spirit (on 02 September 2010)

I think SMW, SM64 and SMS should be included as well, but wth.

d21lewis (on 02 September 2010)

When I got SMA, it didn't come with Super Mario World (on the same cartridge. it came with my Snes). If this releases in the US, I'm grabbing it despite already owning the individual games on the GBA/GB.

You can get all the original games, which were superior IMHO, in this package for a total of 2100 wii points ($21). You must really want to get that history book and CD to pick this up.

This will take wii to all-stars whne it's released!
