Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Has a New Character Been Leaked?
The image below seems to suggest so. The photo was taken by a user calling himself Denjetsu, and is supposedly from an article containing an interview with producer and director of the crossover romp, Ryota Niitsuma.

For those of you uninitiated in the Marvel Universe, the man pictured above between supervillain Dr. Doom and alien experiment Super-Skrull is the one and only Silver Surfer, former herald of Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds. Assuming this is not simply a photoshop (it looks genuine), here are some other details that you may choose to believe or not to believe.
- Niitsuma mentions that this will be the entire playable roster of characters related to The Fantastic Four. It had been mentioned way back that The Fantastic Four themselves would not be present, and that seems to still hold true. It's also said that Silver Surfer will be shown off later this month. Perhaps he was the surprise planned for GamesCom that we reported on earlier?
- Silver Surfer has a unique playstyle and is very quick, evidently he never stands on the ground, but stays hovering on his board at all times. On top of this, he is recommended for advanced players, while Dr. Doom is cited as a good character to start with for Fantastic Four fans who are new to the vs. Capcom series.
- Since the last public build, Super-Skrull has gotten more attacks using Invisible Woman's powers, that seemed to be missing before, added to his arsenal.
- Niitsuma also says that Fantastic Four do play a major role in the basic story of the game's arcade mode, despite not being playable, and that the final boss should be recognizable to fans of their franchise.
So if this article is true, that all but confirms that Galactus will be the big baddie, even moreso now that Silver Surfer is apparently playable. Thoughts? Share them with us in the comments section.

I do not find the lack of the fantastic four as any real loss. It is much more interesting to have super skrull in the game. Also, if the final boss is indeed Galactis than that is more than enough fantastic four representatives in the game.
Exactly, that's why we have Super Skrull. The Captain Commando style wont work too well. Having all four of them would be a waste. Capcom obviously initially intended to include the fantastic four. But, like I said.. Marvel told them not to use them, and instead to use Super Skrull.. It makes perfect sense anyway.
Nah, that wouldn't work for me (the Captain Commando style...well, I don't know. I should see it)
Anyway, a shame...As a Marvel Fan, I want them.
Not going to happen. Marvel told Capcom specifically to use Super Skrull over the F4. Now, having them along side Super Skrull would make them even more pointless. The other option is to have them play similar to Captain Commando, but, if they're all going to be on the same team, just use Super Skrull...
I don't think the F4 will ever be playable in a marvel vs. series.
@MrT-Tar
I hope they change this and add some of them at the last second. I mean, just think the possibilities: Thing vs Hulk, Human Torch vs Spider Man, Human Torch vs IceMan, Mr Fantastic vs Dr Doom, Invisible Woman vs Anyone who dare....and the list can go and on and on.
The fantastic 4 were thrown out by marvel... It made more sense to add super skrull..
@ Mr. SickVisionz (nice nick, btw)
Servbot will probably be in. And, I agree, no strider seems kinda weird.. But, I'm more-so hoping for Ruby Heart than Sonson. Ruby was the main character in MvC2, and had the most unique play-style.
Also, when I say servbot, I mean he'll probably control a machine... much like tron did.
I'm glad the silver surfer is in, but I really think Mr Fantastic and possibly the thing should be in as well
If the Silver Surfer stays on his surfboard the whole time, he might be a character I'll try. The goofier the better.
I'm still finding the lack of Strider, T. Bonne and SonSon to be most disturbing.
As much of a fighting game fan that I am, the comic book fan in me DEMANDS that Silver Surfer be broken as all get out. For continuity and such.
