gamepanic: i saw that too, that was the thnig that made me question the ps4 rantings unless they were releasing the same game ala ps2 and ps3 games.

Aww man I wish it wasn't fake... I was soooo looking forward to spending about $999 on the next PlayStation console, complete with Super Blu-Ray player and the ability to alter the space/time continuum!

Pretty convincing for a fake production.

Naturally a PS4 announcement would have flown in the face of all logic with 3D support and Move on the PS3 currently being pushed to boost the platform.

It would make about as much sense as MS announcing an Xbox 3.0 before Natal even hit shelves for the 360.

Of course its fake. There's no way a huge announcement like a new console will be made on a viral video like that. It will happen next year at E3 or TGS or the highly improbably E32012.

This is definitely not real. I don't need to explain why it isn't real, it just isn't. Unicorns and leprechauns are more realistic than a PS4 at this point. If Sony announces a PS4 NOW, with the upcoming release of Move, year after the release of Slim, and sales right behind the 360, they're simply put, Stupid.

Good thing it was fake, the video acts as if no one has seen 3d anything before.

Maybe the people who bought a PS3 back in 2006 are ready for a PS4... Who says you have to update to a system on the same year of it's release anyway?

However, if this is just an update to the PS3 to re-brand it yet again, it seems a little foolish to me... Sony should simply wait... I hope the PS4 will do everything the PS3 did except better, and be similar to code for as the PS3 was, so that devs wont have to re-learn how to do everything, and make porting from PS3-PS4 easy.

That said a PS4 is hihgly doubtful and a blatent contradiction by Sony, but these videos are to well made for Sony to have not made them.

Taking the PS3 and calling it the PS4 would be the single biggest copout and admission of defeat in Sony's gaming history, I HIGHLY doubt that that is what the plan is, even if this is real.

You forgot to mention the game he's playing is Modern Warefare 2, clearly showing the menu in the clip. Perhaps MW2 will be going 3D on the PS3?

Who knows.

Between 13 and 14s into the damn video (On the right monitor of the two shown) he is holding a DS3 controller. This is definitely a new firmware updating the system and keeping the same hardware.

We will see.

I have more questions going into this E3 than any other. Most E3 I just await new announcements. This E3 is full of tons of rumors, controversy and expectations. Something big is being hyped....are we getting set up for the biggest E3 ever or the biggest E3 letdown ever?
